Travis Head Survives Two Dismissals Due to Hardik Pandya’s No-Ball in Thrilling IPL 2025 Contest

It wasn’t Travis Head night against Mumbai Indians on Thursday, as he struggled on the tricky Wankhede pitch, playing one of the slowest knocks of his IPL career. However, luck seemed to be on his side when he was dismissed twice in consecutive balls by Hardik Pandya, only to survive both times due to no-balls.
The drama unfolded on the fourth ball of the 10th over of Sunrisers’ innings when Hardik delivered a fuller ball at the stumps. Head whipped it off his pads and was caught by Will Jacks at deep mid-wicket. The Mumbai Indians captain, along with the owners and staff, began celebrating, but the celebrations were cut short when the siren went off, signaling a no-ball. Travis Head, already halfway back to the dugout, and Hardik, unaware at first, were both surprised when umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal confirmed the call. Nita Ambani was equally shocked.

Sunrisers Hyderabad scrape to 162/5

Travis Head, despite a slow start, managed to score 28 off 29 balls, and in doing so, became the second quickest batter to reach 1000 IPL runs, achieving the feat in just 575 balls—30 balls more than Andre Russell.
For much of the innings, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batters struggled to adjust to the challenging Wankhede wicket. The Mumbai spinners, making the most of the grip and turn, dominated the early overs. The first six of the game didn’t come until the 18th over, highlighting MI’s control. However, a late surge, with 57 runs coming off the last five overs, gave SRH a much-needed boost. In the final over, Aniket Verma hit two sixes, and Pat Cummins added another to help SRH score 22 runs off Hardik Pandya’s over.
