Bangladesh, batting first, struggled early on, collapsing to 35/5 during the powerplay. However, Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali steadied the innings, putting together a crucial 154-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Hridoy top-scored with 100 off 118 balls, guiding Bangladesh to a total of 228.
Mohammed Shami was the standout performer for India, taking 5/53 in his 10 overs. Harshit Rana and Axar Patel provided excellent support, picking up three and two wickets, respectively.
In the chase, India began confidently with a 69-run opening stand but faced a middle-order wobble, falling to 144/4, thanks to some tight bowling from Bangladesh’s spinners. Shubman Gill, however, anchored the innings, finishing unbeaten on 101 off 129 balls, including nine fours and two sixes, as India sealed a six-wicket victory.
