The IPL 2025 auction saw fierce competition for Indian fast bowlers. A key pacer was acquired for INR 18 crore, while another was secured for INR 12.25 crore. Two others were bought for INR 10.75 crore and INR 10 crore, significantly boosting the bowling lineups of their respective teams.
Arshdeep Singh (Punjab Kings – INR 18 Crore)
Arshdeep Singh, who was released by Punjab Kings before the IPL 2025 auction, made a triumphant return to his home team for INR 18 crore. After a fierce bidding war involving CSK, DC, GT, RCB, RR, and SRH, SRH’s final bid of INR 15.75 crore was matched by Punjab Kings using their RTM card.
SRH raised their offer to INR 18 crore, but Punjab Kings once again used their RTM, successfully securing Arshdeep and ensuring he would play in front of his local fans.
Mohammed Siraj (Gujarat Titans – INR 12.25 Crore)
After seven successful seasons with RCB, Mohammed Siraj was secured by Gujarat Titans for INR 12.25 crore at the IPL 2025 auction. Despite interest from CSK and RR, Gujarat won the bidding war. RCB chose not to use their RTM card, allowing Siraj’s move. While he’ll miss playing alongside his mentor Virat Kohli, Siraj is eager to bolster Gujarat’s bowling attack for the upcoming season.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Royal Challengers Bengaluru – INR 10.75 Crore)
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, released by SRH ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, has been secured by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for INR 10.75 crore. RCB outbid MI and LSG in an intense contest to acquire the experienced pacer. With Bhuvneshwar joining Josh Hazlewood, RCB strengthens their bowling attack, adding much-needed experience and enhancing their new-ball options for the upcoming season.
T. Natarajan (Delhi Capitals – INR 10.75 Crore)
T. Natarajan, previously a key wicket-taker for SRH, has been acquired by Delhi Capitals for INR 10.75 crore after being released by SRH. Despite competition from SRH and RCB, DC emerged victorious in the bidding war. With Natarajan joining Mitchell Starc, Delhi’s bowling lineup is greatly strengthened. The contrasting styles of the duo are expected to complement each other, giving DC a potent pace attack for IPL 2025.
Mohammed Shami (Sunrisers Hyderabad – INR 10 Crore)
After being released by Gujarat Titans, Mohammad Shami was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 10 crore at the IPL 2025 auction. SRH won a bidding war against KKR, CSK, and LSG to secure the veteran pacer. Despite missing IPL 2024 due to injury, Shami has made a strong domestic comeback and is set to return to international cricket soon. His inclusion will enhance SRH’s bowling attack, bringing depth and experience to their squad for the upcoming season.
