Record-Breaking Margins in T20I Cricket: Czech Republic Leads the Way
The Czech Republic holds the record for the largest margin of victory by runs in T20 International cricket. This historic feat occurred during a Continental Cup match in Ilfov County, Romania, in 2019, where they decimated Turkey by a staggering 257 runs.
After opting to bat first, the Czech Republic piled up an imposing 278/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Key contributions included Sudesh Wickramasekara’s explosive 104* off 36 balls and Sumit Pokhriyal’s steady 79 from 52 deliveries. This total remains the second-highest score in T20I history.
In reply, Turkey was bowled out for a meager 21 runs in just 8.3 overs—the lowest team total in T20I cricket. Mehmet Sert top-scored with 12 runs, while eight batters were dismissed for ducks.
India’s Entry into the List
India recently secured their largest margin of victory in T20Is with a 168-run win against New Zealand. After amassing 234/4, they bowled out the Kiwis for 66, adding their name to the list of dominant T20I performances.
