Australian opener Travis Head continued his sparkling form in the first T20I of the three-match series against England at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Wednesday (September 11). The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener took special likely to England and Punjab Kings all-rounder Sam Curran, smashing him for 30 runs in his opening over.
In the 5th over of the match, Head hammered two fours followed by a hat-trick of six rounding off with another boundary to raise 30 runs in the over as Australia raced to 71 for no loss in just the 5th over. Travis Head Creates History
Head’s knock of 80 in 25 balls came with a stunning strike rate of 320. He is the first-ever player from a full-member nation in world cricket to score a knock at a scoring rate of above 300 after facing 20 balls or more. Head’s knock is the second fastest in international cricket among players to face more than 20 balls in an innings behind Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan but the quickest among players representing a Test-playing nation.
