Veteran Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara retires from all formats of cricket 2025

Pujara had played more than 100 Test matches for India.

Experienced Indian cricket team batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has announced his retirement from all formats of cricket with immediate effect on 24 August. With this decision, Pujara will not be seen playing not only in international cricket but also for Saurashtra in domestic cricket.

It is worth noting that 37-year-old he made his Test debut against Australia at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in October 2010. In the second innings of the match, Pujara had a big partnership with Sachin Tendulkar and played an important innings of 72 runs to win the match for Team India.

Shortly after this, when Rahul Dravid retired from the game, he showed the same amazing game like Dravid for the Indian team. He played more than 100 Test matches for India. However, he got very few opportunities in white ball cricket.

On the other hand, he announced his retirement from cricket through a post from his official X account. Pujara said – Wearing the Indian jersey, singing the national anthem, and trying to give my best every time I step on the field, it is impossible to describe in words what it really means.

But as they say, every good thing has to come to an end, and with immense gratitude I have decided to retire from all formats of Indian cricket. Thank you all for your love and support.
