Women’s World Cup 2025: England announces 15-member team for World Cup, Danny White returns

Women’s ODI World Cup starting on 30 September

For the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, which is co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, England has announced a 15-member team today on 21 August. In the tournament starting on 30 September, the team will be led by the current number 1 ICC ODI batsman Nat Seaver Brunt. This is the first time that Brunt has been given the captaincy of England in an ICC event.

Also, former captain Heather Knight has returned to the team, who was away from cricket for some time due to injury. Apart from this, Sarah Glenn and Danny White Hodge, who did not play in the ODI series against the Indian women’s team last month, have also returned to the team.

So, after the announcement of the team for the upcoming Women’s ODI World Cup, the team’s head coach Charlotte Edwards said through an official press release – Playing for your country in the World Cup is one of the greatest honors in the world of sports and I am very happy for all the players selected in the team.

Like all global tournaments, it will be a big challenge, but we want to go as far as we can in India and I believe that if we play our best cricket, we can compete with anyone.

Due to the circumstances, we have chosen an additional spinner and we are fortunate to have so much depth in this department. It is great to welcome Sarah Glenn back. This means there is no place for Kate Cross, Maia Bouchier or Alice Davidson-Richards, which will be disappointing for them.

England’s full squad for Women’s World Cup 2025

Nat Seward Brunt (captain), M Arlott, Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Bell, Alice Capsey, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, Sarah Glenn, Amy Jones, Heather Knight, Emma Lamb, Linsey Smith, Danny White.
