Tim David has violated ICC’s Code of Conduct Rule 2.8.
Australia cricket team’s experienced all-rounder Tim David has been fined by the International Cricket Council (ICC) before the start of the three-match T20 series against South Africa.

David has been fined 10 percent of the match fee as he committed a Level 1 offense of the ICC Code of Conduct in the fifth T20 match against West Indies in St Kitts on 28 July 2025.
Also, Tim David has violated Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which contains sections related to players and support staff. This article includes expressing disagreement with the umpire’s decision during an international match. Apart from this, a demerit point has been added to David’s disciplinary record after this offense, as it was his first offense in a period of 24 months.

Let us tell you that this incident happened in the fifth over of Australia’s innings, when Alzari Joseph bowled a ball to David on the leg side which was not given wide. David expressed his disagreement by spreading his arms and indicating that the ball was wide, and then walked towards the umpire with his arms spread.
So, now Tim David has admitted his guilt and accepted the punishment proposed by Ron King of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees. Therefore, now there is no need for any formal hearing.
This offense was imposed on the player by onfield umpires Zahid Basarat, Lesley Referee and third umpire Deighton Butler. In the Level 1 offense of the ICC’s Code of Conduct, a player is warned and a maximum penalty of 50 percent of the match fee and two demerit points are included.
