England Lions Squad: England has to play a five-Test series against India at home. Before this, England Lions will face India A in two unofficial Tests from May 30. India’s squad for these matches was already announced, while now England’s team has also been announced. England has selected 15 players, some of whom are also part of the senior team. All-rounder Chris Woakes has also returned, who was away from action for some time due to injury.
The right-handed all-rounder suffered an ankle injury some time ago this year, due to which it took him time to start the summer season. Due to the injury, Woakes was not selected for the only Test against Zimbabwe. However, the 36-year-old will now test himself by participating in the matches against India A from May 30. These matches will be important for Woakes as it will give him a chance to claim selection in the Test team for the five-match series against India.
James Rave handed over the command
James Rave, who was selected as an additional batsman in the squad against Zimbabwe, has been made the captain of England Lions. At the same time, Jordan Cox, who was out due to injury, has also been included. Apart from this, international stars like Rehan Ahmed and Dan Mousley have also been included in the team. Rehan will be available only for the first match and will then get busy in the T20I series against the West Indies.
