Kolkata Knight Riders vs Gujarat Titans: In the 39th match of IPL 2025 played at Eden Gardens, the home team Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a crushing defeat and Gujarat Titans won the match by 39 runs. Gujarat Titans’ top order did wonders again

Gujarat Titans, who came out to bat first after losing the toss, had a great start once again. Sai Sudarshan and captain Shubman Gill maintained their good form and did not let their team suffer any setback in the powerplay. This pair continued to trouble the KKR bowlers and then took the team’s score beyond 100. During this, both the batsmen completed their half-centuries. Sudarshan played an innings of 52 runs in 36 balls and was dismissed in the 13th over on a score of 114. Gill continued to bat brilliantly and it seemed that a century would come from his bat but it did not happen.
GT’s captain played an innings of 90 runs in 55 balls, which included ten fours and three sixes. Jos Buttler also batted brilliantly and scored an unbeaten 41 runs in 23 balls. Rahul Tewatia could not open his account, while Shahrukh Khan remained unbeaten and scored 11 runs in 5 balls. Vaibhav Arora, Harshit Rana and Andre Russell got one wicket each from KKR.
Apart from Ajinkya Rahane, other KKR batsmen flopped
KKR had a bad start while chasing the target. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, playing his first match in the current season, was dismissed in the first over after scoring just 1 run. His partner Sunil Narine also could not show much and returned to the pavilion after scoring 17 runs in 13 balls. Venkatesh Iyer flopped again and scored 14 runs from his bat. Captain Ajinkya Rahane definitely played some great shots but he too was out after scoring 50 runs in 36 balls.
