India last toured Bangladesh in 2022-23 for a series comprising two Tests and three ODIs. This August, the Indian team will return for a six-match white-ball series, as announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on April 15, 2025. The squad is set to arrive in Dhaka on August 13.
Notably, this will be India’s first-ever bilateral T20I series on Bangladeshi soil. The tour will feature three ODIs and three T20Is marking India’s first white-ball-only visit to Bangladesh since the three-match ODI series in 2014.

According to the schedule, the third ODI and the opening T20I will be hosted at Chattogram’s Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Cricket Stadium (previously known as Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium). The remaining fixtures the first two ODIs and the final two T20Is — will take place at Dhaka’s Shere Bangla National Stadium.
This series will serve as India’s final preparation ahead of the 2025 T20 Asia Cup, which they are set to host later in the year.

The ODI series will kick off at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on August 17, followed by the second ODI at the same venue on August 20. The final ODI will move to Chattogram, taking place on August 23.
The upcoming T20I series between India and Bangladesh is set to begin on August 26, with the opening match scheduled to take place at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Following the first game, the action will move to the capital city, Dhaka, where the iconic Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur will host the remaining two fixtures on August 29 and August 31.
This T20I leg of the tour holds special significance as it will be the first-ever bilateral T20I series between India and Bangladesh to be played on Bangladeshi soil. While the two teams have clashed several times in the shortest format of the game, including memorable encounters in global tournaments like the ICC T20 World Cup and the Asia Cup, this will mark a historic occasion for both sides in a home-and-away bilateral context.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed excitement over hosting India for this landmark series, anticipating a strong turnout from the passionate cricket fans of both nations. Given the intensity of recent encounters between these two teams and the growing competitiveness of Bangladesh in T20 cricket, the series promises to deliver thrilling contests filled with high stakes and memorable performances.
For India, this tour presents an opportunity to further test their bench strength in T20Is ahead of upcoming global tournaments, while for Bangladesh, it offers a chance to claim a historic series win against one of the most formidable sides in world cricket, right in their own backyard.
“This series promises to be one of the most exciting and highly anticipated events on our home calendar. India has consistently set the standard in international cricket across all formats, and fans in both countries can look forward to an enthralling contest. Bangladesh and India have produced some memorable matches in recent years, and I expect this series to be equally competitive and entertaining,” said BCB Chief Executive Officer Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, as quoted by Cricbuzz.
In their last T20I meeting in India in 2024, the hosts secured a commanding 3-0 series win. However, in their previous ODI series clash in Bangladesh in 2022, India fell short, losing 1-2
