On Sunday, India secured a commanding 150-run victory over England in the fifth T20I in Mumbai, clinching the five-match series 4-1.

Opting to bat first, India put on a scintillating display on the batting-friendly Wankhede surface. Despite the early dismissal of Sanju Samson, the Men in Blue powered their way to 95 runs in the powerplay—their highest-ever in T20I cricket.

Abhishek Sharma led the charge with a sensational knock, smashing his second T20I century. The left-hander hammered 135 runs off just 54 balls, including 13 sixes. He received valuable support from Shivam Dube (30) and Tilak Varma (24), helping India post a formidable total of 247 runs.

While chasing, England had a shaky start, stumbling to 68/4 in 6.1 overs. Mohammed Shami claimed his first international wicket since November 2023, dismissing Ben Duckett for a duck. Phil Salt was the top scorer for the visitors, smashing 55 runs off 22 balls, including three sixes.

India’s spin trio—Varun Chakravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, and Abhishek Sharma—dominated the attack, sharing five wickets between them and sealing a commanding 150-run victory.

Abhishek Sharma emerged as the top run-scorer of the series, amassing 279 runs, including a brilliant 135-run knock in Mumbai. England captain Jos Buttler secured the second spot with 146 runs.

Tilak Varma finished third with 133 runs, while Hardik Pandya (112) and Ben Duckett (97) completed the top five run-getters of the series.
