Rashid Khan rises to No.1 among bowlers, while Virat Kohli slips in latest ICC ODI rankings

Rashid Khan has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings after 11 months. The Afghanistan leg-spinner climbed back to the top following his stellar performance in the 3-0 series win over Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi. Rashid Khan took 11 wickets in the series, Rashid Khan, including a five-wicket haul in the second ODI, propelling him five places up to No. 1 with 710 rating points — 30 ahead of South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj, who sits second.

Afghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran has climbed eight spots to a career-high second place in the latest ICC ODI batting rankings after an outstanding series, where he scored 213 runs and earned the Player of the Series award.

Rashid Khan: With this achievement, Zadran now holds the highest-ever batting rating by any Afghan player, surpassing Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s previous record of 686 points set last November. His No. 2 position also marks the best-ever ODI ranking for any batter from Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Rahmanullah Gurbaz has moved up two places to 16th, while Bangladesh’s Towhid Hridoy and Mohammad Nabi have jumped to 42nd and 50th respectively in the batting charts.

In the all-rounders’ category, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai has regained the top spot, marking his second stint as No. 1 after holding the position from February to August this year, while Rashid Khan has climbed to fourth place.

In the batting rankings, India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has moved up two spots to fifth after scoring 175 in the first innings of the second Test against the West Indies in New Delhi. Meanwhile, KL Rahul’s scores of 38 and 58 not out* have lifted him two places to 33rd.
