The IND Under-19 team is currently touring Australia, where the two teams are playing a three-match Youth ODI series. The second match of this series was played today, Wednesday, September 24, at the Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane.

It should be noted that India’s youth team won this match by 51 runs against Australia, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Previously, India won the first Youth ODI played on the same ground on September 21 by 7 wickets.

To give you a detailed account of the match, the Australia Under-19 team won the toss and elected to bowl. Batting first, India’s Under-19 team was all out for 300 in 49.4 overs. However, team captain and opening batsman Ayush Matre was caught out on the second ball of the innings without opening his account.
But then, young Vaibhav Suryavanshi (70) and Vihaan Malhotra (70) put on a 117-run partnership for the second wicket, stabilizing Team India’s innings. Vedant Trivedi also made 26 and wicketkeeper Abhigyan Kundu made a brilliant 71.
On the other hand, Australia’s bowling attack included Will Bryrom, who took three wickets. Yash Deshmukh also took two wickets. Casey Barton, Hayden Schiller, John James, and Aryan Sharma each took one wicket.
Chasing India’s target of 301, Australia were all out for 249 in 47.2 overs, losing the match by 51 runs. Australia’s Jaden Draper, however, scored a brilliant century of 107 runs but his innings failed to lead the team to victory.
For India, captain Ayush Matre took three wickets, Kanishk Chauhan took two, and Kishan Kumar, RS Abrish, Khilan Patel, and Vihaan Malhotra took one wicket each.
