Most Successful Teams in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) History

The Jamaica Tallawahs clinched the first-ever Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title in 2013.

Launched in the same year, the CPL has grown into one of the world’s most popular franchise T20 tournaments, featuring six competing teams each season.

Since its inception, the league has seen changes, with two original franchises—including a past champion—becoming defunct and replaced by new sides.

Between 2013 and 2025, six different franchises have lifted the CPL trophy. In this article, we look at the teams with the most CPL titles to their name.

Saint Lucia Kings have been part of the CPL since its inception in 2013, but their maiden triumph came after a long 11-year wait. In 2024, under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis, they finally lifted the trophy.
The Kings dominated the season, losing only three group-stage matches before defeating defending champions Guyana Amazon Warriors in both Qualifier 1 and the final. Key contributors were Johnson Charles (452 runs) and Noor Ahmad (22 wickets).

Their persistence paid off in 2023, when they clinched their maiden title under Imran Tahir’s leadership, finally ending years of near misses.
