Revealed: Reason Behind Indian Women Cricketers Wearing Pink Jersey in 3rd ODI Against Australia

Indian Women and Australian Women are battling it out in the series-decider third ODI at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium on Saturday (September 20).

The three-match ODI series is currently tied 1-1, with Australia winning the opener and India bouncing back in Chandigarh. The clash in Delhi now serves as the decider, adding extra intensity to the contest just days before the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, starting September 30.

ODI: What caught everyone’s eye at the start was the Indian team’s attire. Harmanpreet Kaur and her side stepped onto the field in pink jerseys, sparking curiosity among fans. The reason: India are wearing the pink kit to raise awareness about breast cancer. The jerseys also carry the message “thanks a dot.”

Sharing her thoughts, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur said: “Every day we train for uncertainties, and this pink jersey is a reminder for you to be prepared. Let’s make breast self-examination a monthly routine.”

As for the action, Australia won the toss and chose to bat first. With both bat and ball having played a major role in the series so far, the decider promises to be a gripping contest between two top teams.
