Skipper Yasim Murtaza (28) also chipped in, helping Hong Kong reach a modest 143/7. For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib all picked up two wickets apiece.

In response, Bangladesh made a steady start but lost both openers—Parvez Hossain Emon (19) and Tanzid Hasan Tamim (14)—inside the powerplay, slipping to 47/2. From there, captain Litton Das (59) and Towhid Hridoy (35)* took charge, producing a classy 95-run partnership that sealed the chase. Bangladesh crossed the finish line with more than two overs to spare, beginning their Asia Cup journey on a winning note.

Asia Cup 2025 – Most Runs

In Group B, Afghanistan lead the table with two points, closely followed by Bangladesh, who also have two points but a lower net run rate. Hong Kong remain at the bottom after suffering two consecutive defeats, while Sri Lanka are yet to begin their campaign.

In Group A, India sit comfortably at the top, while the UAE occupy the last spot. Pakistan and Oman are yet to play their opening fixtures.
