Cheteshwar Pujara has recently retired from all formats of international cricket.
Former India all-rounder Karsan Ghavri believes that the reason behind Cheteshwar Pujara’s retirement is his “frustration”. Recently, India’s Test veteran Cheteshwar Cheteshwar Pujara said goodbye to international cricket, after which Ghavri shared his views on this, he said that it is very likely that Cheteshwar Pujara may have announced his retirement due to not being able to consistently make his place in the team. Pujara last played a Test match for India in June 2023.

He believes that the reason for Rohit and Virat‘s retirement will also be the same, where these veteran players could not make a place in the team despite having so much experience, due to which they ultimately had to retire. 74-year-old Ghavri said that these three top batsmen deserved a grand farewell, but the BCCI did not make any efforts to handle their careers.
Cheteshwar Pujara: This must be the reason for Rohit and Virat too: Ghavri
According to Mid-Day, Ghavri said, “They may have retired in frustration. After representing the country for so long, if a player is not getting opportunities, then anyone will be frustrated. Similarly, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma must have felt the same frustration before the recent England tour.
The BCCI may have its own views, but ultimately the player suffers. These players are not demanding crores of rupees. It is all a matter of respect and they all deserved that farewell Test 110 percent.” Ghavri further said, “People who have played 100 Test matches should be honored with a farewell match.
BCCI should have given this honor to Kohli, Rohit and Pujara because no one wants to end their career like this. If someone has represented the country in 100 or more Test matches, then it is definitely a big contribution.
