Prithvi Shaw Requests NOC from MCA, Eyes Move to Another State Team. Out-of-favour Indian opener Prithvi Shaw has written to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), seeking a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to join a new domestic side. In his letter, Shaw mentioned that he has received an offer from another state association and wants to make the switch for his “growth and development as a cricketer,” signalling an end to his long-standing association with Mumbai.
Though Shaw has represented Mumbai in white-ball formats recently, he has been out of the red-ball setup for a while. His off-field controversies have often overshadowed his on-field performances in recent times.
According to a senior MCA official, Shaw’s letter was received on Monday, June 23, 2025. “Yes, we have received a letter from him. It has been forwarded to the apex council for approval. A decision is likely to be taken by the evening,” the official told PTI.
Prithvi Shaw has played 58 First-Class matches, amassing 4,556 runs at an impressive average of 46.02, including 13 centuries and 18 half-centuries. His highest score in red-ball cricket stands at a remarkable 379.
“At This Point in My Career…” – Prithvi Shaw Offered New Opportunity with Another Team

Prithvi Shaw, once hailed as one of India’s most promising young talents, has been offered a fresh opportunity to continue his cricketing journey with a new team. Prithvi Shaw, who burst onto the international scene in 2018 with a century on Test debut as a teenager, has since struggled to live up to that early promise. Often compared to Vinod Kambli—a similarly gifted cricketer whose career was derailed by disciplinary issues—Shaw’s journey has been a mix of flashes of brilliance and off-field concerns.
Now 25, Prithvi Shaw has formally informed the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) of his desire to part ways with the team where he began his senior domestic career in 2017. In a heartfelt letter, he expressed gratitude to the MCA for their support while requesting a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to join a different State Association.
