Match No. 41 of IPL 2025 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will be held without cheerleaders and fireworks. Both teams are set to face off at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, SRH’s home ground. As a mark of respect for the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, players from both sides will wear black armbands.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released an official statement confirming that the cricketing community will pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragic incident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon. Along with the players, support staff, match officials, and commentators will also don black armbands during the match.
SRH vs MI Captains to Pay Tribute to Pahalgam Attack Victims During Toss
The captains of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians – Pat Cummins and Hardik Pandya – will pay tribute to the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack during the toss. As a mark of respect, players from both teams, along with the match officials and umpires, will observe a minute of silence before the start of the game. Spectators inside the stadium will also be requested to join in the tribute.
Commentators have been instructed to inform viewers about the tragic incident that took place in Kashmir during the tribute. Additionally, there will be no cheerleaders or fireworks as a sign of mourning and solidarity with the victims and their families.
The terrorist attack occurred in the tourist town of Pahalgam in Kashmir, where a group of four armed militants opened fire on a crowd of approximately 500 tourists at around 2 PM on Tuesday, April 22. Reports suggest that around 20 people have lost their lives, and at least 15 others have been injured in the horrific incident.
