There have been many great partnerships in the history of the BBL, and some of them have set records. These partnerships were so strong that the other team couldn’t stop them, and both batters scored a lot of runs.
Every team in the BBL has had great partnerships. On some days, two batters just don’t get out and make the other team frustrated. It will be exciting to see which partnerships are in the top 10 highest in BBL history.
1. Marcus Stoinis & Hilton Cartwright (207 Runs)
This is the highest partnership in the history of the BBL. It’s a score that would be impressive as a team total in T20 cricket. Marcus Stoinis was particularly destructive that day, scoring the highest individual score in BBL history, while Hilton Cartwright also contributed a brilliant half-century. Their partnership was a treat for Melbourne Stars fans and will be hard to beat.
2. Matthew Wade & D’Arcy Short (203 Runs)
Both left-handed batters showcased their skills in this incredible partnership, cementing their status as BBL legends. Matthew Wade was in a destructive mood, scoring 130 runs off 61 balls with 7 sixes, while D’Arcy Short supported him with a solid 72 runs. Their combined effort was a masterclass in big-hitting and building a massive partnership.
3. Rob Quiney & Luke Wright (172 Runs)
This partnership featured a classic dynamic where one player was the aggressor and the other the anchor. Luke Wright hit a century off 60 balls with 9 sixes, while Rob Quiney played a supportive role with 62 runs. Their efforts helped the Melbourne Stars post a total of over 200 runs.
4. Shaun Marsh & Michael Klinger (171 Runs)
Chasing a target of 171, Marsh and Klinger opened for the Perth Scorchers and did not lose a wicket throughout the innings. Marsh remained unbeaten on 76 and Klinger on 90, leading their team to a comprehensive victory and demonstrating how to chase a big total in T20 cricket.
5. Alex Carey & Jake Weatherald (171 Runs)
Opening for the Adelaide Strikers, Carey and Weatherald punished the Hobart Hurricanes bowlers. Carey scored a magnificent century, while Weatherald contributed 65 runs. Their partnership was one of the great moments in BBL history.
