Wanderers Stadium: The Wanderers Stadium in South Africa is one of the most famous cricket venues in the world. This is also known as Bullring because of the appearance it has. The Wanderers is one of the top venues in South Africa, which is governed and organised under the supervision of Cricket South Africa (CSA). This is the home venue for domestic and SA20 teams Imperial Lions and the Joburg Super Kings.
This is the third stadium in Johannesburg after Old Wanderers Stadium and Ellis Park. Over 74 years, this has been hosting cricket matches at international and domestic levels. The very first game played at this venue was in December 1956, when South Africa and England faced each other in a test match.
The seating capacity at this venue is around 34000, making it one of the biggest cricket venues in South Africa at the moment. Corlett Drive and Golf Course are the two ends at this venue. This is the venue that hosted the iconic ODI in 2006, when South Africa chased down the record-breaking total of 438 against Australia. This venue has hosted the finals of the 2003 Cricket World Cup and 2007 T20 World Cup and also hosted matches, including the semifinals of the Indian Premier League 2009.

The Wanderers Stadium Pitch Report: Batting or Bowling?
The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg is an excellent batting wicket and one of the best in whole South Africa. The boundary size of 65-70 metres is not big, and that’s what you get here as a batting side. The very frist time a team crossed the 400-run mark in ODIs was Australia when they made 434 against South Africa in 2006.
That was chased as South Africa made 438 in reply and registered the highest successful ODI chase. That speaks about this pitch and its nature. It is not easy for bowlers because there isn’t much help. This is one venue in South Africa where you can even chase 200+ totals in T20 matches.
