The rare achievement of scoring quadruple centuries in cricket has been accomplished by only eight players in history. West Indies’ Brian Lara is the only cricketer to achieve this feat in international cricket, with his iconic 400* against England in 2004.
The first quadruple century was scored by England’s Archie MacLaren in 1895, with a remarkable 424 runs for Lancashire against Somerset. Lara also holds the record for the highest first-class score, with 501* in 1994 for Warwickshire, a record that still stands.
Other notable players include Bill Ponsford, who scored two quadruple centuries (429 in 1923 and 437 in 1927), and Don Bradman, whose 452* in 1930 remains the fastest quadruple century. Hanif Mohammad came close with 499 runs in 1959 but was run out just short of 500.
The remaining players in this exclusive group include Bhausaheb Nimbalkar, Aftab Baloch, and Graeme Hick.
