In the past, some cricketers were camera-shy and had limited communication skills, but today, they are often seen in short films and on TV debates, speaking confidently on camera.

Sunil Gavaskar appeared in the Marathi films Savil Premachi and Maalamaal.

MS Dhoni and his wife have started a film production company, Dhoni Entertainment, which announced Let’s Get Married in January 2023. His wife Sakshi said Dhoni might act in a movie if they find the right script and could star in an action movie if Dhoni Entertainment produces one.

S Sreesanth

Former cricketer S Sreesanth, banned due to spot-fixing charges in the IPL, tried acting and has appeared in five movies, including Aksar 2 and Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
